Town of Unity

Maine Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster  (MaineVOAD) is a non-profit coalition of volunteer organizations that respond to disasters that coordinate through MaineVOAD to provide more efficient services.

The National Emergency Response Team (NERT) is an organization that is committed to the establishment of independent and joint ventures to conceive, develop, and implement disaster response services and educational programs that coordinate publicly available resources during a crisis situation.  NERT frequently collaborates with the VRFP to provide food to those in need and crisis.

The town of Unity, Maine supports the efforts of the the VRFP in various ways to help better serve the citizens of Unity and surrounding towns.

Volunteer Regional Food Pantry

The largest hunger relief organization in Maine, Good Shepherd Food-Bank provides for those at risk of hunger by soliciting and distributing surplus food to more than 600 partner agencies.  Since 1981, the Food-Bank has partnered with individuals, businesses and farmers to alleviate hunger and build community relationships.  During fiscal year 2008-2009, the Food-Bank distributed 12 million pounds of food to families and individuals throughout Maine. The Food-Bank is a longtime partner of the VRFP.
